About Natalie

Hello, my name is Natalie. I appreciate you taking the time to read my biography, and I’d be happy to have a phone call if you have any questions that I haven’t answered here. I earned my master’s in Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola Marymount University, where the values of compassion, social justice, and the inherent dignity of every individual—central to the Catholic tradition—deeply influenced my work. These values shape my approach to therapy and guide me in serving people from all faith backgrounds, understanding the profound impact faith can have on one’s life. I also wrote The Morning Miracle for College Students, a guide that helps young adults develop empowering morning routines to improve productivity, mental well-being, and success throughout their college journey.

I have a deep passion for empowering youth. It’s incredibly rewarding to help children and teens build coping skills, self-esteem, and emotional intelligence to navigate the challenges of growing up. I use creative, playful techniques to engage with young clients, fostering an environment where they can feel free to express themselves. I also work closely with families and schools, helping them create support systems that encourage resilience and growth. I have extensive experience working with veterans, particularly those facing PTSD, and I’m honored to help adults process trauma and develop healthy emotional regulation. When working with adults and couples, I blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and psychodynamic methods to make sure we’re addressing each person’s unique experiences and needs.Outside of my work, I love spending time with my family and friends, running with my dog, traveling to new places, and learning new languages. These activities keep me connected to what matters most and help me stay grounded. If you’d like to connect further, I’d be happy to answer any questions or have a conversation with you!

Natalie’s Approach

Natalie blends compassion and practical strategies to help clients build confidence, resolve conflicts, and achieve lasting personal growth. Through a strengths-based approach, she encourages clients to take active roles in their own healing process, fostering a sense of agency and self-efficacy. By combining cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques, she works with clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, set achievable goals, and develop practical solutions to overcome obstacles. Her approach is collaborative, working with clients to create actionable steps that drive meaningful change.

In addition to practical strategies, Natalie integrates deep, insight-oriented psychoanalytic therapy to help clients explore unconscious patterns and unresolved emotional conflicts that may be contributing to current challenges. By uncovering the root causes of issues, she helps clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their behaviors. This approach promotes long-term healing and growth, creating space for clients to not only address immediate concerns but also to achieve lasting emotional balance and peace.

I brought my daughter to see Natalie and the change has been remarkable! She is a lot more like her free-spirited self, which is how she was before she became depressed. I appreciate how Natalie incorporates her background in youth development and her therapeutic expertise in building resilience and self-esteem in young clients. My daughter now has stronger coping skills and a renewed sense of confidence, and I’m grateful for Natalie’s continued support.

As a veteran dealing with PTSD, I’ve seen a number of therapists over the years, but Natalie’s approach stands out. I feel more in control of my emotions and better equipped to face life’s challenges, thanks to Natalie’s experience with individuals like myself. I’ve highly recommended her to family and friends.

Natalie helped me see how I kept getting stuck in the same, recurring issues. I am thankful that she was slow and patient with me, but also knew when to challenge me so I could arrive at a different perspective. I see clearly now how I got in my own way. Ever since, life has not been the same. Thank you, Natalie!
